BAIGENT GEOSCIENCES PTY. LTD.
For excellence in geophysicsBAIGENT GEOSCIENCES PTY. LTD.
For excellence in geophysicsBaigent Geosciences was established in 1995 as a service to the mineral and oil and gas exploration industry.
We specialize in all aspects of potential field and radiometric geophysical surveys.
Since its inception, Baigent Geosciences primary objective has been to provide an expert service in the data processing and QC of airborne geophysical data independent of the data acquisition. In this way geoscientists are assured on the best available data integrity and quality.
Many millions of kilometres of data have been processed with Baigent Geosciences in-house software since the creation of the company including new acquisition and reprocessing.
The in-house software has been developed over many years in order to cater for data sets of varying quality. In this way data sets that have been poorly processed or that may have been badly affected by terrain clearance can be re-processed to a professional standard.
Baigent Geosciences also provide consulting service for survey design, project management and data processing. We have been used by many small and large public companies over the years by as well as many government agencies both in Australia and overseas.
Baigent Geosciences is highly regarded by geologists and geophysicists for its breadth of knowledge, professionalism, expertise and honesty.

Mark Baigent - Director
Mark Baigent, the chief geophysicist and owner of the company has been involved in the airborne geophysical industry since 1980. Mark was initially employed by Geometrics from 1980-1983, both in the USA, then Australia.
Mark was then employed by Kevron Geophysics, an airborne geophysical survey company as the chief geophysicist for many years,.
While at Kevron Geophysics Mark designed and set up the company’s data processing centre which was renowned for high quality results and fast turn around of the geophysical data.
After leaving Kevron Geophysics in 1995, Mark established his own data processing company, Baigent Geosciences.
Mark has processed data from many parts of the world such as Indonesia, Africa, South America, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Argentina, Alaska, and many other countries.
In addition, Mark has processed many large Australian government geophysical surveys.
Mark was involved with the largest airborne magnetic gradiometer survey conducted by Saudi Aramco.
He was the QC contractor and also performed the radiometric processing for 1.8 million line kilometers of magnetic and radiometric data for the Department of Energy and Mining in South Australia in 2020.
Mark was involved in the quality control of the airborne data in the field, and was the acting survey coordinator and was also involved in the quality control of the data processing. The project was completed over a twelve month period, it involved 9 aircraft and approximately 1.7 million line kilometres of data were collected.
