Baigent Geosciences was incorporated in 1995 by Mark Baigent. Mark has had over 25 years experience in airborne geophysics,
and has managed data processing for many years. He is well respected in the
industry. At its inception, Baigent Geosciences primary objective was to
provide an expert service in the airborne geophysical data processing of
magnetic and radiometric data independent of data acquisition. In this way
geoscientists are assured on the best available data integrity and quality. Over 3 million line kilometres of airborne geophysical data have
been processed since the creation of the company. In addition, many more line
kilometres of airborne data has been re-processed to produce data products
with comparable quality to products produced from newly acquired data. More recently Baigent Geosciences has diversified its interests
by investing in the purchase of hardware and software for the acquisition and
processing of ground penetrating radar data and radiometric data. The ground
penetrating radar/radiometric acquisition system is used to map soil types,
soil depth and soil structure. The data collected and processed by this system has been used by
the viticulture industry for research into grape yield in conjunction with
precision agriculture research. Baigent Geosciences has developed efficient interactive software
for rapid turnaround in data processing. New modules are added to the
software suite when new standards are set in the industry or in response to
the publication of new geophysical data processing methods. |
